Bossed Up Podcast: How to Develop Executive Presence

Recommended: Yes

Summary: Emilie Aries and Ashley Stahl talk about what exactly is “executive presence” providing both experience and reference tools to help you develop yours.

Additional Thoughts: I came across Emilie Aries as she had released a book this year, Bossed Up: A Grown Woman’s Guide to Getting Your Sh*t Together, in which she mentions her podcast. Looking for educational entertainment while doing the treadmill, I subscribed to her podcast and listened to episode 132. Format of the episode was a casual conversation between two intelligent and honest women on the topic of–what is executive presence.

They define several leadership skillsets which aid in executive presence, such as getting the attention (in a leadership kinda way) of the room, elevator speech, how you hold yourself, decision making and having a clear vision based on your values/who you are. They also referenced two books, one of which I already downloaded, Presence by Amy Cuddy.

If Emilie’s other podcasts are similar to this podcast, I’m in. Her positive and energetic attitude is very motivating.
